10 Hot Tools for Creating and Editing Short Video

10 Hot Tools for Creating and Editing Short Video

1. Want to start creating short videos? Then you’ll want to consider using some of these tools.Just starting out on video? You can’t go wrong with Instagram’s built-in video tool. It allows you to film in sections so you can seamlessly join your edited video together in a professional way.
2. Hyperlapse is a clever tool by Instagram that allows you to create time-lapse videos. It allows you to condense longer videos for a short video effect—a speedy way to tell your story. Hyperlapse is perfect for behind-the-scenes videos and unboxing videos. You could even take your fans on a “quick” tour of your office.
3. Flipagram is super-easy to use and helps bring your images to life to create beautiful short video stories. It’s perfect for posting to Instagram or Facebook. Many people use the videos to give a shout-out to fans, review an event and more. It’s available in the Apple Store, and it’s available for Android and Windows as well.
4. The Videohance app truly makes your videos look beautiful. It allows you to edit in real time on your phone by adding effects, borders, light leaks, text, music and more. With Videohance, it’s easy to create something that looks quite professional! It’s available for iPhone.
5. The Stop Motion app is easy to use and so much fun. As an alternative to Google Play, it allows you to create videos with the fun stop-motion technique. You can also check out Stop-Motion Lite. Both are available on iOS.
6. Whereas other video apps focus on the visuals, Adobe Voice focuses on the voice and turns your story into an animated video in minutes. Speak into the device to tell your story in short sentences or sections, then add animation, images, photos, sound and text. It’s available for iPad.
7. Put simply, 8mm will take you back in time. This low-cost app allows you to create old-fashioned 8mm movies in real time. The app is available for the iPhone and iPad.
8. Not strictly a video tool, Cinemagram allows you to animate one part of an image, which is a cool effect, and one worth having in your kit bag.
9. The iMovie app is another in-phone editing tool you can use on the go. It has a lot of the popular features of the desktop iMovie program, allowing you to add audio, text and special effects from your phone. It’s available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
10. Kinemaster Pro Video Editor is a full-featured video editing tool that enables you to work from your smartphone. It’s available for Android (but not all devices).

But you don't have to be an animated character to dream....

In the animated Disney film, Tangled, the pub thugs sing:

Though my face leaves people screaming

There's a child behind it, dreaming Like everybody else,I've got a dream

Tor would like to quit and be a florist Gunther does interior design Ulf is into mime,Attila's cupcakes are sublime Bruiser knits,Killer sews,Fang does little puppet shows And Vladimir collects ceramic unicorns

Flynn: I have dreams like you,no really Just much less touchy feely They mainly happen somewhere warm and sunny On an island that I own Tanned and rested and alone Surrounded by enormous piles of money

But you don't have to be an animated character to dream....

The Dollar Shave Club... has men in a lather.

The e-commerce start-up opened its doors just a few weeks ago, and has already developed a following for its quirky approach to hawking razors and blades for a $3 to $9 monthly fee.It began with a YouTube video, in which founder and Chief Executive Michael Dubin variously rides on a forklift, plays tennis, and dances with a fuzzy bear. It's already received some four million views.

Dollar Shave's motto? "Our blades are f— great."The Santa Monica, Calif., company won't disclose its number of customers, only noting that 12,000 people signed up in the first 48 hours.

Movie Obsession Websites... WOW!

In the web marketing class, we apply marketing theories and strategies to the World Wide Web. Our goal is to identify the major distributors and online outlets for content in the present marketplace, delineate the various current models for making money on the Internet and the requirements for an effective Web site design.

This Spring, the following students did a great job on their projects. You can access their websites through their blogs.

Gail put her site on the AILV servers. Click here to see if it is still "Up and Running"

Excellent website - Fall Web Marketing

I think Keily did quite a terrific job on this site.

http://fagabeefee.com/lasvegasfilmstrip/flash.html

The challenge was to apply marketing theories and strategies to the World Wide Web, recognize the requirements for an effective Web site design, create content for a Web page, apply financial management concepts and theories and summarize the major components of marketing using push technologies.I think he did just that! Check it out and see what you think. You can access all other class projects through his site. His MySpace is pretty terrific, too. Find the link here or on the far left side.

A movie built for the new media

Shot for a reported $15,000, "Paranormal Activity" came in at No. 5 with $7.1 million as distributor Paramount expanded it into daylong release after two weeks of midnight-only screenings.

Fans talked it up on Twitter and Facebook, while the movie expanded to more cities based on which markets received the most requests to see it on a Web site Paramount set up… "We all spend a lot of time talking about Facebook and Twitter and our ability to communicate. Here's a case where it allows people to rally around a movie they care about and for them to have a sense of participation, then tell other people, "Hey, this is something you should see, too,'" said Rob Moore, Paramount vice chairman.

Outstanding Job for a Couple Talented Web Designers

Above is the REAL LVMI, Nick's and them Lynn's.
To the left is the google search from today...

See the previous post! It seems that some of our student work is being confused with the actual websites they are redesigning. As an instructor, I have used this project a number of times. This confusion can be the result of a number of issues, but I think it clear that the students involved - Lynn and Nick - can be commended on well done work. Compare their proposed redo's of Las Vegas Movie Insider witht he actual website. Both Lynn and Nick came up as number 8 and 11 respectfully on a google search with the real LVMI coming up first.

Student Work - Too good!

Some good news and some bad news... Lynn's webwork was so compelling that it showed up on a google search as the EIGHTH listing... and it is not a real site! This certainly shows how wonderful Lynn's work is and how well she designs her web pages. Unfortunately, the actual owner of the site, who supported our class project, discovered this problem and asked to have the site altered as not to cause confusion in the marketplace. Check them out!

This is what the original website owner thinks of the Web Marketing Class:

Thanks Frank, you’re awesome. I really love what they’re doing and I’m very honored that you use my website as a tool in your class.
It’s pretty cool!

Las Vegas Movie Insider Prototypes - Web Marketing Fall08

The Fall 2008 Web Marketing class completed their Las Vegas Movie Insider projects. The goal was to make a site that was fun and interactive, so much so that people would want to sign up to maintain a relationship. By starting with gathering email addresses, and then adding demographic information like ages and zip code, the demographic profiles could be sold to local retail and restaurants to deliver high potential future customers. For instance, a group of 21 to 35 year old women might be sent to pick up free movie passes at a bar on ladies night. They might get free movie tickets to a film like Sex and the city or Bride Wars. The ladies would get the free tickets, the bar would get a bunch of potential new customers and the guys going for ladies night would get an opportunity to meet a bunch of women who might possible not have gone out to that particular place that night.

The websites include only movie fun and information about free movies and swag. All advertising is delivered by push email marketing. Only people who match the profile of the advertiser would get the marketing message. Local businesses would pay to have a particular demographics delivered to their door.

Check out a sample of what they did. These are complex projects that are works in progress. We did not build the backend that would hold the databases. Some are the LVMI prototypes and some are the movie obsession websites that are part of the LVMI web sites:

1) Here is the new site that we have created for Las Vegas Movie Insider - http://www.cassieproductions.com/lvmi. As we analyzed the original Las Vegas Movie Insider site, there were specific areas we wanted to focus on.

2) My experience in this class has been amazing. I have not only broken the barrier on web marketing, but it is this class that makes me excited to pursue an advanced career in not only the web but technology, and making money is not a bad idea either. Check out http://www.joshhessdesign.com/thewillferrellproject.html

3) I had a hard time trying to figure out how I would engage a customer without just telling them to buy something. I never realized how much times the sites that I visited daily made me click my mouse. http://royalroomproductions.com/rrp2/home.html

4) These past eleven weeks, I have found that involving the end user is critical in itself. To connect emotionally with customers I feel is the only way to connect today. http://www.lynnschaferdesigns.com/martian_animation/ and http://lynnschaferdesigns.com/lvmi/
